You will never imagine the reason this little girl is standing on the toilet seat in her home, but it will make your blood run cold when you find out.
Little kids are always up to playing games and having fun. That’s what Stacey Wehrman from Michigan thought her 3-year-old daughter was up to when she found her standing on the toilet seat in their home one day—she then snapped this photo and posted it online.
What was so ominous about the seemingly playful gesture was why the toddler was doing it. It turns out, there was a reason … a deadly serious reason.
When the daughter told Stacey the real reason, Stacey “broke down.”
She explained: “She was practicing for a lockdown drill at her preschool and what you should do if you are stuck in a bathroom,” she shared on Facebook. “At that moment all innocence of what I thought my three-year-old possessed was gone.”
Stacey aired some of her frustration, asking politicians for tougher gun control: “Why on earth are there not universal background checks?”
Her post was shared 12,000 times, garnering over 8,400 reactions and all manner of comments on gun control.
The debate raged on social media between those in favor of tougher gun control, and those who feel tougher gun control is not the answer.
Ryan Faulk posted a meme stating: “GUNS ARE BANNED IN PARIS WHERE TERRORISTS KILLED 127 PEOPLE … GUN BANS DO NOT STOP TERRORISTS.”
Evee Morales-Veras said: “I have a 4 year old and this hits hard. Wake up America.”
Stacey added: “I am not pretending to have all the answers or even a shred of them, but unless you want your children standing on top of a toilet, we need to do something.”
